Venice – Ukraine: exclusive Business Forum at Ca’ Vendramin Palace

Venice

The Event

Venice: on the 1st of March 2017, an exclusive business forum was held at the Ca’ Vendramin Palace. Its aim was to present tangible opportunities for Veneto businesses in the Ukraine. A most important occasion especially now that the Country’s accessed to the EU. It was also a good opportunity to make a platform for local businesses who had already had successes in the Ukraine.
The event was organised by the Honorary Consul of the Ukraine in Padua Marco Toson. The forum was supported by the Commune of Venice, the collaboration of the Ukrainian Ambassador to Italy Yevhen Perelygin and Banca Intermobiliare di Investimenti e Gestioni. When all was said and done, more than 140 businesses and institutions had participated. The meeting opened with a heartfelt welcome from Counsellor Enrico Gavagnin.  He was followed by important contributions from Deputy Mayor for Venice Luciana Colle, the Veneto Regional Counsel Vice-President Bruno Pigozzo, the Ambassador Perelygin and Consul Toson. Subsequently, there was a noteworthy intervention from VSP Vice President, our own Gianmaria Scapin. He talked about our network of volunteer professionals and educators. Besides that he also offered their services to the Ukrainian Ambassador in his bid to educate local businesses on how to deal with Eastern European markets. The event was incredibly successful, and is proof of strengthening ties between Italy and the Ukraine. Examples of tangible positive results include increased participation from businesses to internationalization courses, as well as strongly augmented interest and awareness of the Ukrainian situation after the event.
